I’ve heard that a lot of people still aren’t able to purchase some of the most popular paper shredders on the market; the Fellowes™ brand.  Here’s what happened to cause this worldwide shortage:

Last fall, the Chinese company who manufactured paper shredders for Fellowes™ decided to stop all shipments!  The two companies; Fellowes™ and its joint venture partner Jiangsu Shinri Machinery Company, had a contractual dispute. This is interesting since Fellowes™ acquired 100% ownership of Jiangsu in 2006.

According to the official press release from Fellowes™ (click here to read the entire article): “….which resulted in a unilateral shipment stoppage being made in August.”  Some of the models affected still aren’t available according to people familiar with the situation.
